The schooling landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is in the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school model isn't the only successful means of studying. Their NCV programmes are created for students who would like to their journey towards a fulfilling vocation early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Section for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, regarding their range of courses.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are offered at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a three-year period.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These programs begin at NCV level two as well as bare minimum requirement would then be Grade nine certificate with a pass in Arithmetic.

After the student finishes NCVLevel 2, they'd then have attained a grade ten certificate. NCV Level 3 would be grade 11 and NCV Level four is grade twelve.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, becoming comparable to a National Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade nine is on NQF level one. Our NCV programmes start NCV degree two which is equivalent to an NQF level two.

On which kind of students are suited to these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that traditional schooling is not really always the only real method of getting an artisan or turning out to be skilled so if a student knows from an early age what their interests are, the NCV programme is in fact properly suited for that student.

False Bay TVET College will assist the student to read more become qualified in his field of interest. Students who want to become entrepreneurs will also have access to their Centre of Entrepreneurship on the Westlake Campus.
